Setup LAStools in QGIS

This document contains the walkthrough about how to setup and download LASTools.

Download LAStools plugin​

  1. Install the LAStools plugin in QGIS by
    1. Going to Plugins → Manage and Install Plugins
    2. Search for LAStools and Click Install
  2. Download LAStools from the link on Dropbox, here

Add LASTools to the path​

  1. Once you have downloaded the LASTools from the link above, put the extracted contents of the zip file in the C:\LAStools

Use LASTools from QGIS​

  1. To see if LAStools is configured correctly, open QGIS
  2. Go the Settings → Options
    1. Look for Processing in the left sidebar
    2. Look for Providers, you should see LAStools over there
    3. Check the path for the LAStools folder, it should be the same as the path where you extracted the zip file.
  3. You have now sucessfully setup LAStools to use it with QGIS.
